Earth

4,500,000,000 years ago, Earth formed from the dust and gases floating in space around Sol. Earth resides in the third dimension, in the Milky Way galaxy, in Space Sector 2814 (as classified by the Guardians of the Universe), and revolves around Sol, aka “the Sun.”

Every universe in the Original Multiverse has an Earth, and in each of those universes, Earth is considered to be at the center of that universe. Therefore, most of the universes in the Original Multiverse are named after the Earths of those universes.

For example, if we discuss a divergent reality, “Earth-One,” we assume that any reference to Earth-One includes the galaxies and planets within the universe where Earth-One resides. In Codex Omniversa, we’ll refer to all Earths collectively as “Earth”… for now.

Within the Multiverse, Earth will evolve and change over time, with crisis-level events re-forming it and its universe. Other Earths and their universes may have existed before these events, and other Earths and their universes may be created during these events.

Note: Remember that in Hypertime, universes are neither created nor destroyed. The same crisis-level events that re-form Earth create new timelines that branch from Hypertime. All Earths and universes always exist; no histories are rewritten.

We live on Earth-Prime (aka Earth-33.) This is the keystone Earth from which all other Earths theoretically emerge. On Earth-Prime, superheroes exist only in fiction. It is the home of DC Comics, one of the publishers of superhero fiction in the form of comic books.

The Flash (vol. 1) #179 (May, 1968)

Note: Earth-Prime is not to be confused with Prime Earth, a universe that will be formed later by the combination of several other Earths.

Nested within Earth is the White Entity, the living embodiment of the White Light of Creation, aka the Source. The Entity’s power radiates from Earth, sparking life on countless other worlds, as it will soon on this one…
