Old West: The Good…

El Diablo

Pow-Wow Smith

Ohiyesa Smith was the Sioux Indian sheriff and master detective of Elkhorn.

Windrunner

In 1938, Max Mercury was a messenger who made friends with the local Blackfoot clan. Upon his dying breaths, the shaman of the clan drew a lightning bolt on Max’s chest with a pink substance.

That night, his name became Ahwehota — “He who runs beyond the wind.” And in 1838 he was the fastest man alive.

The Whip

Don Fernando Suarez was a nobleman descended from the grandees of Spain who became a legendary hero named “El Castigo” in Seguro, New Mexico. Inspired by his adventures, Rodney Graynor, a wealthy playboy from the eastern United States, became the new Whip and fought for the rights of the common man.

Scalphunter

Matt Savage was a scout in the United States Army who later became a miner and a cattle-driving crew flank man before running his own cattle-driving team named, “the Dogiron Crew.”

He was the father of Brian Savage, who was stolen by the Kiowa Indians. They named him Ke-Woh-No-Tay (“He Who is Less Than Human”) and as he became more of a gunfighter, he never lost touch with Kiowa traditions.

In the 1880s, Brian became sheriff of Opal City for about a decade, then retired with his wife to a farm in Turk County. He returned to Opal City in 1899, where he was shot in the back and died.

Johnny Thunder

In order to keep a promise to his mother never to use guns, schoolteacher John Thane created the alter ego of Johnny Thunder and became a cowboy vigilante in Mesa City, Arizona.

And finally…
