In the 16th Century, a British privateer, Jon Valor, sailed the Atlantic Ocean with a fleet of ships. Guided by a strong moral code of justice, he defeated many crews of pirates. In 1558, he became known as, “The Black Pirate.”

In a sea fight with Spanish men-o’-war, Bonnie was taken prisoner by the Black Pirate’s arch enemy, Don Carlos, son of the King Phillip of Spain. Attempting to rescue her, Jon was captured and sentenced to death. However, Bonnie was able to sway the king, promising that Jon would help him stop the Black Pirate…

(Obviously, neither the king nor his son knew that Jon Valor and the Black Pirate were on in the same!)

Bonnie soon gave birth to a son, Justin, who eventually joined his father on his adventures. Although he never assume the identity of the Black Pirate, he wore a similar costume.
