Homo Magi

There were once two branches of the human race, or so they say, Homo sapiens… and another we might call Homo magi.

Where Home sapiens struggled with nature, learning the laws of nature and primitive science, and bending those laws to his will—

—Homo magi was one with the natural order, controlling those forces we call magic as easily as any mythical sorcerer.

Justice League of America #165 (April 1979)

For Homo magi, life was anything but arduous. Able to command mystical forces, life was a paradise! In time, Home magi — though fewer in number than Homo sapiens — would have ruled the earth but for one weakness…

It seems that whenever a member of the Homo magus race met a Homo sapiens of the opposite sex… both were immediately attracted to each other!

Justice League of America #816 (April 1979)

About 2,000 years ago, the remaining Homo magi fled the known world, afraid that their species would be completely absorbed by the Home sapiens.

They found a hidden land in Turkey…
