Amazons

If you recall, when a cave man lost his temper and murdered a pregnant woman in 30,000 BCE, her spirit travelled to the Underworld

Thousands of years later, the female gods of the Greek pantheon desired to create a race of humans that would champion their ideals. When the males were not interested, the five primary Greek goddesses traveled to the Underworld and the Well of Souls, which housed the souls of all women murdered by man’s hatred.

They lifted the souls and dropped them into a lake in Greece where they mixed with the clay and stone to become the Amazons. The first two to emerge were Hippolyta and her sister, Antiope. The goddesses made them queens and gave them each a Golden Girdle.

In the days of Ancient Greece, Amazonia was the foremost nation in the world. The women ruled and all was well. Then one day, Hercules, the strongest man in the world, landed on its shores to prove that he could conquer the Amazons.

Hippolyta challenged him to a personal duel and, with the girdle given to her by Aphrodite, the goddess of love, she easily won. Hercules was a sore loser and used deceit and trickery to steal the girdle and the Amazons became slaves.

Hippolyte appealed to Aphrodite, who helped her take back the girdle under the condition that they leave the man-made world to establish one of their own. The Amazons overcame their masters, but Hippolyta and Antiope disagreed on their methods.
