Helspont


Millenia ago, the Daemonites, an alien race from the planet Daemon, discovered interstellar travel and began conquering the universe. Although they had the ability to possess other species, they met their match when they encountered the Kherubim, a race of nearly immortal warriors that had created the Daemonites as their slaves.

During one of their battles, both a Daemonite ship and a Kherubim ship crash landed on Earth. Led by Helspont, their military commander, the Daemonites wanted to conquer this new planet. The Kherubim, on the other hand, wanted to defend it.

Even within the ranks of the Daemonites, there was dissension. Defile, a political leader, and Hightower, an ambitious solider, had their own plans to conquer the planet. Helspont came to believe that his race hybridizing with people of Earth would eventually cause the extinction of this race.

Helspont experimented with the metagene, which granted himself and his followers with great power. This created more conflict, though, and Helspont was imprisoned. Those left to monitor the metagene became careless over time and it evolved on its own in the wild…
