Over 4,000 years ago Teth-Adam was born the son of Pharaoh Ramses II, making him a prince of Kandaq.
The old man, Shazam, had by that time aligned himself with the pharaohs in order to find a successor for he had grown weary of his duties and was eager to join the pantheon of gods he served. He was, in retrospect, too eager, for…
Blaze, Shazam’s half-demon daughter

…Adam was endowed with powers stolen from the Egyptian deities Shu, Hero, Amon, Zehuti, Aton, and Mercury.

Under the wizard’s watchful eye, the Mighty Adam served as a hero. During a flood on the Nile, he saved hundreds of people. Blaze’s plan had failed. Adam had not been turned evil.
Alternate HistorY
Another version of the story is that Teth-Adam’s father died in a similar flood on the Nile. He and his family were enslaved by Ibac, the terrible ruler of Kandaq, and were tortured.

When he helped his nephew, Aman, escape, Adam was wounded and the two men were magically transported into the Rock of Eternity where they met the wizard Shazam.
When Shazam offered Aman the role of champion to defeat Ibac, he agreed with one condition: that he would also heal Teth-Adam.
Returning to Kandaq, Aman and Adam planned to use their powers to free their country; however, they disagreed on the methods. While Aman sought a peaceful solution, Adam wanted only to exact revenge.
Adam killed Aman and seized his power, becoming known as the Mighty Adam. Further, when Shazam asked Adam what had become of Aman, he told him that Ibac had killed him.

Regardless of the way he got there, the Mighty Adam would have many adventures, at times considered a hero, and at times, a villain.
