New Gods Pt. 2

On Apokolips, the royal family ruled through tyranny. The Queen Mother, Heggra, was proud of her son Darkseid’s ruthlessness, even as he continued to plot to take the throne from her.

On one trip to New Genesis, Darkseid met an innocent and peaceful boy. After playing a cruel trick on him, the boy took the name DeSaad and became Darkseid’s most trusted advisor.

Darkseid convinced his uncle, General Steppenwolf, to hunt and kill people on New Genesis for sport, but he secretly intended that Steppenwolf’s actions would incite war.

During the fateful raid, Steppenwolf killed Avia, the wife of the leader of New Genesis, Izaya, as she tried to save her husband. Izaya killed Steppenwolf. (Darkseid later resurrected him.)
