When we last visited GodWorld (Ungrund), the Old Gods were waging a battle against their first and greatest, Olgrun…

One such device was an artificial planetoid that would one day be known as “Warworld Prime.” It contained an aspect called “The Fire of Olgrun.” On its walls, the Old Gods carved a warning:
If the god-aspects of Olgrun are found and joined by one who is worthy, he will be reborn as the hero he was meant to be. But if they are found by one who is unworthy… mighty Olgrun will return in all his wrath and fury, and will return creation to the darkness from which it was born.
The remaining Old Gods came to believe the Source was a threat. Eight billion years ago, their leaders conspired to split the Source into two components: the positive (the Source) and the negative (the Anti-Life.) While the latter hurled through “dozens of planes of actuality,” the former regained its strength and sought retribution by compelling the Old Gods to descend into another war. One of the Old Gods, Gog, fled his home world before it was destroyed.

The destruction of Ungrund unleashed upon the young cosmos “a surging bubble of unimaginable energy.” This “Godwave” spread across the universe, igniting a star named “Sol” and leaving a seed of divinity wherever it touched.

4,800,000,000 years ago, the Third World began when Ungrund’s remnants eventually cooled, forming twin planets: the bright and welcoming New Genesis, and the dark and menacing Apokolips.
