Hypertime

As Alpheus continued to create new worlds inside his World Forge, he created a web of timestreams outside the Multiverse called, “Hypertime.”

Justice League vol. 4 #30 (Late October 2019)

Hypertime has been described as “the cosmic flow of timelines and histories that govern reality.”

Superboy vol. 4 #60 (3-1999)

Within the Multiverse, reality begins from a single past, evolves through an ever-changing present, and becomes one possible future. In Hypertime, there’s a single past, but no definite future. The past is locked and cannot change, but any event, decision, or reaction, no matter how big or small, triggers a divergent outcome. These outcomes continue to generate multiple realities, all of which remain safely cached within Hypertime.

Within Hypertime, timelines can intersect; every possibility and timestream is real… and connected. Events can be reordered, but never lost. For example, visitors from the future cannot change the past; they would instead create a divergent timeline. However, if they affect the present, time strands merge into one probable future… until a new event, decision, or reaction creates yet another divergent timeline.

The divergent timelines found within Hypertime are much more complex than the parallel worlds and realities found within the Omniverse, but they can be easily manipulated. Chronovores are time predators and may include higher dimensional beings, gods, or other intelligent beings. They attempt to shape time to their own liking or to control time to their own advantage…
