In the beginning, there was only the Great Darkness. Nothing and everything were the same thing.
From this single dark infinitude, the Presence created the Omniverse, infinite with unlimited potential…

Due to this imperceptible flaw in what was once perfection, the eternal push and pull between the Great Darkness and The Light began.
The Presence is known by many names and is the fictional representation of any number of deities from multiple religions and mythologies. In essence, it is the great energy of creation (The Source) that lives in all things. It contains within it simultaneously life and anti-life, good and evil, up and down, in and out, black and white, justice and doom… light and dark.
The first living creation was the First of the Fallen, created by The Presence to be its companion. Its next creations came from light (Angels) and from smokeless fire (Djinns.) They all resided in Heaven, an eternal realm within the Omniverse.

The Presence then began an infinite experiment designed to nurture and challenge intelligent creatures on countless worlds. It created The Hands (aka Super-Celestials) and endowed them with the Seven Forces of Creation (or Seven Connective Energies) to populate the Omniverse with unlimited multiverses.
The true goal of each Multiverse was to achieve perfect harmony among every being within their infinite realities. After fulfilling their duties, The Hands were meant to die, allowing their energies to return to The Source.
From among The Hands, The Presence chose Judges, cosmic guardians tasked to enact judgment when a Multiverse’s balance of good and evil shifted. Each Multiverse would eventually reach an inevitable ending.
The Presence also created…

In his book, “The Codex Omniversa,” The Chronicler records the history of Multiverses and the collective memories of their inhabitants, one by one before moving on to the next. The book contains history of trillions of multiverses, from their beginnings to their ends.
I have fulfilled my function for millennia upon millennia. I have seen many incredible things, on many incredible worlds.
20 billion years ago, The Presence tasked one of its Hands, Perpetua, to create a new realm of existence… a new multiverse.
Meanwhile, the Great Darkness continued to exert its influence, even as it slumbered.
